It's terrific that we know so much now about not only how to treat dyslexia once it shows up but also even how to prevent it, and earlier on if you have any kind of dyslexia, reading problem or spelling problem in your family, you need to be very aware that the environment you create for even your per-school-er is going to be important in whether or in how severely this tends to might play yourself out in your child. Some of the things that you can do are to be sure this child has a very good stimulating language environment. So many of our young children today are glued to their electronic toys, but they don't get a chance to do very much talking, and it's very important for children to not only to listen to language, but also to use it. If your child shows up with a speech problem early on. Slushy speech, or letters, and words that get confused, if this persist and is different from other children of his or her age, you might want to have an evaluation to see if we can work on that understanding of the sounds of the language before it becomes a serious problem. One thing you can do with your child is to play rhyming games. Believe it or not this is one of the foundations of reading readiness. The second thing you can do is to read to them a great deal. Let them experience language and then talk about what you have been reading. i would really advice that if there are reading problems in your family that you cut down on the amount of TV and electronic entertainment, because this child needs to be interacting personally with human beings who can respond to their own language and help them develop it.
