Getting help early is crucial in safeguarding your child's self-esteem and self-worth. We've all been in situations where something has been challenging or difficult for us. As adults, you have the skills and abilities to go ahead and try. For children, they do things if they are fun and they are successful at them. If they don't feel successful and they are not fun, because they are challenging, they will avoid them. They will feel stressed and frustrated by them. The will go and say things like, "I'm not good at this. I'm not as smart as the other kids. I can't do this." When you start to hear those things come out of their mouths, that's the time to get them help.
