One of the most difficult things is to find that information that might be so helpful to us, that is the information of how do a college's graduates do through life? Are they able to find jobs? Is there a career center that will support them? that sort of thing. And this is frankly going to take a little bit of work for some families, because there are no large conglomerations of this kind of information. But a good place to start is the website of the college or university that you're thinking about, because they will have a career center of some sort. And you can take a look at that and really get a sense of what sort of career services they're offering to their current students, and what sort of services they're offering to graduates. Also, admissions officers are much more willing to share this information and much more eager to share it than they were just a few years ago. And that's because more and more people are concerned about what happens after college. And I think that's because college is so expensive. It's hard to stomach plunking down several $100K for an education and not really know what's going to happen afterward. So you can ask those questions of the admissions department, and they might be able to give you some really good facts and figures on employment rates. And then just searching. The internet can be your friend. Do searches for employment percentages. Maybe there are professional organizations that will list what schools and colleges they like to see graduates from and that sort of thing - might be able to be helpful to you as well.
