Developing world class talent. There is a fine line between putting in the work, putting in the hours, and experiencing life in a full way, just like a normal kid. The cost of being world class can be really high. Many people don't talk about this, but to be the best in the world, there is a dark side. It's lonely. There's not many people to relate to and the normal development that all people go through is different. They have not learned how to go to a social event and feel okay. They've missed how to, maybe even go to school. There are these milestones that don't take place for some people who are on this path of world class. I think it's very important for us, as parents, to really know our child and support them for what they want and to guide that process as best we can. This is tricky, especially when we have children that are naturally talented and enthusiastic.
