It’s normal to feel overwhelmed after having twins. You feel depressed, isolated and depleted. You have a lot of singleton envy when you see your girlfriends going out with one baby for coffee, or going to the park, or having only one car seat to put in the car and actually being able to fall asleep when her baby is sleeping. With mothers of twins – one might be asleep, the other one might be awake. They both might be asleep and they both may awake at the same time. You can feel downright downhearted for a while, but just have to remember it will get better. I really try to advise new parents of twins to really complain about their situation. It’s important to be able to talk to another person and share what some of these negative feelings might be. I think it’s important to remember that when you talk about negative feelings, they go away.
