When I feel super frustrated when I'm parenting and I'm yelling and not getting the results that I want. I take that as a sign that I need to take a break. I am trying to do too much. When I try to do too much, everything and everyone around me suffers. If I can, I try to drop everything and I just hang out with my kids, maybe just for five minutes. Sometimes I sit with them quietly and align myself with being present. I take a couple breaths, then I get back to cooking the meal and returning the call, and helping with the homework. But now I'm doing it from a calm place, a more centered place, and hopefully, a more productive place.
