When I first had my first child, my daughter, and I was hanging out with my old friends, my girlfriends, my single friends, I went through a very hard transition, because a part of me was trying to stay the same. I was trying to stay like hip and yeah, I mean, like not a care in the world. But the truth was, I was now a mom. I’ve just gone through this huge, you know, life-changing experience and I wasn’t the same. So it was kind of tough hanging out with my single girlfriends. So I had to regroup, I had to pull back for a second and I really had to check with myself what was going on. And what I came up with was that I had to allow the fact that I was now a mom to happen. And I had to allow my friendships to evolve to include this new part of me that was a mom. I couldn’t stay the same. My whole world had changed and I really had to honor that.
