One of the most difficult challenges a parent faces is instilling good values in their children. My wife and I found, as cliche as it may sound, the easiest way to do that is to walk the walk; don't talk the talk. Your kids watch and observe everything you say and do. They hear you talk about others. They hear you talk to others. They see when you're being honest. They see when you're being dishonest. They see when you're being catty. They see when you're not being catty. You have to realize that they are sponges absorbing everything they see you say and do. The best way to instill values in them is be the person you want them to be, because they will mirror back what they see you do and what they see you say and how you treat others.
