I gained 70 pounds with my first child. And I remember looking at the doctor after I had gained 50 and I said is anybody concerned about anything. And he basically told me that you will lose about half the weight once the baby is born and that was pretty much the truth. I was left with about 35 to 40 pounds after she was born. And we just got on a very consistent walking program. She loved the stroller. I had a lot of errands to run. I would stick her in the car seat in the travel system and out we would go to run our errands. And my husband would come home after work and we would take her again out for a walk. And it took a good 18 months to two years to really get back to the body that I was used to. And again, I was going very slowly. I was not doing any high impact aerobic activity. It was a lot of weight training and circuit training that I was doing, and it was a lot of fat that was left to lose, not only from all the food that I had eaten unfortunately but also from all the fat that you gain from having a baby.
