As a parent, it’s best to know that allowing your youngster to roam around your home is perfectly fine. Yet everything will be so much better if you let your baby to explore the outdoors as well – under your supervision of course. Going outdoors will allow them to see beyond the confines of their usual living space and beam as to what nature has got to offer.

When bringing your baby outdoors, you must get lightweight prams to keep you and your baby comfortable. A pram is a very useful baby care tool you can use to place your young child in as both of your stroll along outdoors.

Apart from just bringing your toddler outside, engaging them in activities would help them to enjoy the trip more. Listed below are some simple outdoor activities your baby will surely love:

  1. Take Them For A Walk

Taking your baby for a walk has to be the easiest activity you can do with your baby. All you have to do is to bring your compact stroller, and you’re ready to go. You can carry your baby with you or let them sit on their pram.

When taking your baby for a walk, ensure that you position them facing outside rather than toward you. This will help them have a clearer view of their environment and let their eyes wander on their surroundings. You can walk around your backyard or take a trip to any nearby park.

  1. Let Them Play With Water

You can do great sensory play with your baby by letting them play with water. You can strip their clothes off and place a mat on your lawn. Prepare a shallow tub that your baby can reach and splash with. Even if your baby can sit upright and the tub is shallow and small, you should always supervise them when they’re near water. They could accidentally drown if you don’t keep your eye on them.

  1. Eat Outdoors

Having a picnic would always be fun for everyone, especially for your baby. If your baby isn’t eating well or is used to being a great eater but suddenly decreases their food, giving them a new eating environment might work for your child.

You can lay out your blanket and let your child eat independently. This can get messy, especially if you’re preparing squishy baby food, yet it can help your baby learn independence and improve their motor skills.

  1. Sensory Play With Outdoor Items

Apart from water, you can let your child play with outdoor items through sensory play. You can let your child feel and touch the grass or lay out a blanket and place safe items on it. Allow your child play with rocks, a smooth stick, mud, or sand. With that, you should prepare to get dirty as your child might enjoy too much with the sensory that they’ll touch everything and spread them on their clothes.

  1. Blow Bubbles

Blowing bubbles is an easy and fun way you can do with your baby while outdoors. You can purchase a bubble machine at any toy store or go with a wand for a more classic feel. To save on bubble juice, you can easily make one at home using basic kitchen ingredients.

All you have to do is to mix water and dish soap and stir slowly. Since you’re using this for your baby, you might want to use their dish soap as they’ll most likely try to pop every bubble with their fingers.

  1. Practice To Walk

If your baby is already beginning to stand on their own, you can take your trip outdoors as an opportunity to teach them to walk. The soft grass should help to give them enough cushion in case they fall. You can support them by holding their two hands and encouraging them to take a step. It’ll be a great fun activity for you and your baby. Just ensure they wear good walking shoes to keep their feet comfortable.

  1. Build A Ball Pit

While this is something you can do indoors, building an outdoor ball pit can take the game to a whole new level. This would go well if you have a smaller home as taking outside allows you to have all the space you need to move around. You can use a large tub or an inflatable pool and fill them with balls. When doing this, ensure that you supervise your baby, as they can still fall, especially if they’re mobile.

  1. Visit The Beach

If you’re living nearby the beach, take this opportunity to bring your baby. You can let your baby enjoy the sand or touch the water as it washes their feet. Ensure that you apply a good amount of sunblock on your baby’s skin and supervise them at all times.

Takeaway

Bringing your baby outside doesn’t have to be boring. You can do plenty of things with your baby that’ll boost you and their enjoyment. You can start by taking them for a walk and introducing various activities. Babies are easily entertained, so you don’t have to worry about what activities you’ll prepare. Letting them play with rocks is already great for them.
