Many people ask whether or not they have to wait after taking birth control in order to get pregnant. To be honest with you, you don’t have to wait at all. A lot of people actually will get pregnant right after stopping the birth control. In fact, a lot of people get pregnant while still on the birth control and all the babies turn out okay. For people, however, who take birth control for a long time, say 8 to 10 years or so, especially the pill, or the ring, or any kind of other hormonal suppression, there may be a delay as far as the return of fertility for about 3 or 4 months or so. So when people are taking the birth control pill for 8 to 10 years, you may not get pregnant until 4 or 5 months later. If you take the birth control pill for only 2 years or so, then you might be able to get pregnant immediately.
