When bad behavior is actually good

Bad behavior is really good, and here's why: I always tell parent, "Welcome bad behavior." Behavior is always a reflection of how we are feeling, always. So if a kid is behaving badly, they are essentially telling us that something is wrong. Here's our opportunity. We can punish away that bad behavior and make it stop or we can take the opportunity to find out what's really going on. I often tell parents, if you hear your kid crying, if you can re-frame that in your head, "Wow, this is fantastic. My child is about to learn something new and I can't wait to find out what that is."
