Almost every church, temple, synagogue has a preschool attached to it. Usually, but not always, you don't have to be a member to go to this preschool. When going on tours of a religious school, ask about the level of religiousness. Some religious preschools have very little religion in the classroom, and some have a lot of religion in the classroom and there is something in between. You need to ask and you need to find out what's comfortable for you. Because these school are often not just for members, you will find a very diverse classroom. For example, in a temple school, it not going to be all Jewish kids. In a church school, it is not all going to be church goers. It is going to be a very diverse group of kids. It is going to be all the kids in the neighborhood, which is a very nice thing. The other thing about religious affiliated schools is, often, not always, they have great hours for family. They always have extended care program before and after. It is a great option for working families. Often, they will have different ways of doing their tuition and they are lower because they want to accommodate all kinds of families. If you have a religious school in your community, look at it, even if you are not religious or that's not your religion; they are good to look at because they are often very good options for families.
