When you go on a tour, ask about their toddler or transition or mommy and me classes. Being in a toddler class at a Preschool that you would like to go to is very good. It helps you to see what the school is like and if it's a good fit for your toddler and your family. Often the teachers from that Preschool are leading these classes or even the director. It's a great way for you to get to know the school and the school to get to know you and see if it's a good fit for the whole family. Transition classes are also a way to get into a school. It can be a step in the application process. Ask about that. What is there transition programs? What is their toddler programs. Investigate that because that could be a key to getting into a very desirable school or the school that you want to get into.
