If you disagree with your school about your child's needs, you have the right to disagree with part of your child's IEP or the entire IEP. There are a few ways in which you can resolve this. You can file for informal dispute resolution, IDR. It is not part of IDA so it will look differently in every state or every school district. You need to check your school to see what form of IDR they have. You can also file for remediation or a due process hearing. If you choose due process hearing, it is similar to going to court. We always recommend that you bring your attorney with you.
