Overweight Teens and Tweens

If your tween is overweight, the worst thing that you can do is discuss their weight with your tween. The best thing you can do is model a healthy lifestyle. So, eating healthy foods, cooking together, exercising together; that will make the difference. I generally trust that a tween is going to have a growth spurt. They are going to thin out. If they have good eating habits and they get enough exercise, they are going to be healthy. I don't ever focus on weight with young children.
