It is so important to teach our children to be wise with money, but we need to model financial stewardship and frugality in front of them.
We can lecture our children all day long, but what we live before them is what they are going to remember. Give your children opportunities. When they are little, give them a little allowance. Give them the opportunity to manage money on a small scale.
Let them make mistakes, because if they learn it on the small scale; when they get older and they have these much bigger opportunities, they are going to have the ability, the skills that they learned on a small scale. That will turn over and they will be much more adept at handling money.
