Taking charge of your teens technology is no easy task. The first step is to get a plan. Make sure that you understand, when technology is going to come into the household, how are they going to interact with it? Are they going to play games? Are they going to have cell phones? Whatever that plan is, make sure that it's in placed and that you constantly check in. Number two, participate. As a parent, you have to get involved. You have to instant message, be on those social networks, and make sure that you are participating in the same technology that your kids are. Lastly, you preach accountability with your children. They have to know that, ultimately, they are in charge about what they put online. The have to take responsibility.

Technology Expert

Jonathon Fishman is passionate about technology.  Not for what it does, but for where it can lead you. The idea for his company, Ben’s Ranch, struck Jonathon when his stepmother asked his advice in buying a computer for her grandson. She didn't care about the brand or specs, she simply wanted to know how it would help her Grandson.  Jonathon realized that technical support was centered around rescue, repair and complicated conversations. He believed that the conversation should start with how does technology empower the use. Ben's Ranch became the industry standard for personal and small business IT by shifting the conversation repair to usability. Jonathon is happily married and the father of a seven-year old and a nine-year old.
