Common Sense Media is a national non-profit. It is non-partisan, and what they do is they rate, they educate, they advocate and they investigate. I am going to talk about the 'rate'. There is a lot, I encourage you, as a parent, to go and explore the website, but what they really do, and how I found out about Common Sense Media before I worked there, is they rate content, so they rate movies, television shows, websites, apps, books, music, and they tell you very deeply, and from a developmental psychology sort of way, what's appropriate, what is right for your child. They give you a lot of information about the content, they tell you about sexuality, profanity, consumerism, values; all sorts of information about what is in the content. They also give you an age-range recommendation about what age they recommend the child should use the content or see the content. They never judge parenting. They never say, "No, you really shouldn't let your child see this if they're 13." What they do is they give you the information and they say, "If you allow your child to see this, here are some things you can talk to your child about." It's an incredible resource for parents. They also have an app. called KidsMedia, it's all free and I really recommend you check it out, as a parent, if you care about the content that your child uses.
