Some advice for first time dads in the delivery room? I think you really have to be sensitive towards your partners' needs as far as the delivery is concerned. You know, that's her call as to what she wants to do. And once that baby's born then I think it's really 50:50 as far as what goes on. You know, I know specifically for me, there, aside from packing the bag for the hospital and knowing the route there and knowing where to park in the event that I needed to do that in a hurry, I had all that stuff under my belt. Some of the stuff that I didn't think about was actually, you know, once it was going on taking pictures of the clock at the exact moment of delivery, taking pictures of weight on the scale, cutting the umbilical cord was something that I had completely forgotten about, and I had a member of the staff take a picture of that because you only get one shot at it and, you know, after the fact it's too late so I was really happy that I got them to do that stuff. You know, the other thing to remember was to get the baby closer to mommy and with mommy as soon as possible. I think that is really important, you know, she's been carrying this child for 9 months. She wants to see what he looks like and she wants to have that first moment with him.
