How did I deal with having to put my child on medication for ADD? That's what my child was diagnosed with in Ninth Grade. It was a very tough choice, but ultimately, I found out that she had difficulty in school, processing information. She had all the difficulty and stress of playing volleyball and doing all the things kids do nowadays. Ultimately, she had a panic attack, a CPK. When went to the doctor. They doctor says, "Maybe she can learn to meditate." I didn't want her to have to take any medications at all. I wanted my child to work through it. The reality of it was that wasn't going to happen. After several months of trying different things, we had her go on the medication. You know what? Within three days, she was a new person. She was focused. She was articulate. She worked hard in school. It was the best decision we ever made as parents.
