I would love to tell you that I have overcome all of my parenting obstacles. The truth is, when I think about what they are, two things spring to mind. And one is that I am a wicked control freak. And I have to say even after having three children, that’s pretty much a problem for me. So, thinking about obstacles that I have concurred somewhat, I am working on, and making progress with having low self esteem from my whole life. One of the biggest obstacles as a mom is, facing my own self esteem issues that I have had since being a little kid and being a teenager and being a young adult, but when I think about how I want my children to see themselves and how I want them to see me. I realize this is something I really need to tackle. I can see my own, impossibly high standards mirrored in the face of my seven year old and it makes me want to really change how I handle things. So, I really aim to cut myself a break and have compassion for myself. And one thing that having a blog does is, it helps me connect with other moms, who have similar challenges and it’s really easy to be compassionate to them. So I try to have some of that same compassion for myself, and it is a process I am still working on.
