There are certain teas and herbs that you should be avoiding during pregnancy, especially those that contain steroid, that is of a mild toxic kind or they’re a uterine stimulant. Always consult a qualified herbalist before you use the herbs. Here is some… here is a list of sort of the usual suspects and this list is by no means exhaustive. Avoid all dong quai and angelica root, because they’re a uterine stimulant and they can stimulate bleeding. Nutmeg, when used in high dosage, can cause miscarriage. Goldenseal is some… it’s a potent fruit flu remedy, but it is actually a very strong antibiotic and can… it just can be too strong for the fetus. And lastly, uva uris. It is very commonly used for fluid retention, but it may just move too much water out of your body and create a situation of dehydration.
