I was just talking to a mom this week about the difference between abnormal anxiety and routine, day-to-day worry. One of the things that I recommend for parents is to pay attention to your gut. If something seems like it's of concern, pay attention to that. Other things that you can be looking for are the frequency, intensity and duration of the worry and anxiety. Ask yourself how easy is it or how is it for your daughter to let that worry go, how is she able to bounce back. And then, come back to your gut. If you see her really struggling, think about getting professional help.
