Sometimes children will say or not say that they have what I've called a noisy brain. That is a brain that is overactive or there's static or activity going on that's not directed towards anything. This can happen when kids are born, or it can be part of their every day life. It basically is having trouble focusing or having nothing to focus on. When children are bored and not doing something, or engaged in some activity, their brain can get noisy. They can actually hear crackles or hear negative scripts that have been put in there, or positive scripts that hopefully are there as well.

In his dedication to changing the world, Dr. Ratey has founded The Ratey Institute whose mission is to broadcast life changing science and establish the best practice policies first in our school and then other organizations to reclaim human health.
