Screen time for kids, kids sitting, is a real problem. They are coming to school not knowing how to play. We have to instruct children how to play interactively. They are living and learning to live a virtual life. Last year, a study was done and found that our kids from 2004 to 2009, increased the amount of time they are looking at a screen from six hour a day to seven and a half hours a day. Most of it is passive. It's taking the information in, as opposed to actively learning or doing with our wonderful, digital world. This is a huge problem and one that we have to combat and deal with.
