One of the surprises about writing this book and learning about the effects of exercise on women is; that in 2001, our board of OBGYN doctors said that, when a woman gets pregnant, and she's exercising, she should continue at that rate until it becomes unmanageable and reduce it. If she hasn't been exercising, she should start. Reason being is that it helps with the pregnancy itself, reducing depression, reducing side effects, reducing the risk of getting diabetes and hypertension. It also has an effect on the baby. Babies born to exercising moms are longer, leaner, their head size is no different. A bunch of studies were done in the 90's showing that exercising moms had smarter babies, than non-exercising moms.
