NuvaRing for birth control

The Nuva Ring is another form of birth control that has to be prescribed by your doctor. All of the hormone treatments that we talk about, do not protect against STDs; they only protect against pregnancy. The Nuva Ring has many hormones on it, itself. The way that it's used is it squeezed down, inserted into the vaginal opening, like so. You want it to lay against the cervix. The warmth of the body, the hormones are absorbed into the body. It stays into the body for three weeks. On the end of the third week, the female goes in and takes it out. That is the week that the female has her period. It's a very simple method for individuals who forget about taking the pill on a regular basis. However, if you are the type of individual who doesn't like to touch yourself, perhaps this is not a good choice for you. It is important for you to talk to your healthcare provider. It's important for you to know yourself, when choosing this type of birth control method.
