Mean girl drama is something we hear about from our girls; it’s something we hear about in sitcoms and films, and it’s something that is kind of culturally pervasive in terms of girls stereotypes of being catty, and mean, and manipulative. One of the things that I like to do, rather other than focusing on the mean girl situations is to shine a light on all of the ways that girls and women work together, to really acknowledge when girls are working as a team, when they’re being enterprising, when they’re creating something together, when they’re solving problems – and they do this a lot. So recognizing that and shining the light on that is a powerful way of helping the girls not get caught up in the drama.
