The costs involved in the adoptions that I handle typically range from $15,000 to $22,000 dollars. And included in that would be my legal fees, which would be somewhere between six and eight thousand dollars, the cost of a homestudy, which may be $2,500 dollars, the support of the birth mother, which will really vary from nothing to a lot. And that is something that we determine as we get started. When I talk to the birth mother, I try and assess what her financial needs might be and then if you are going to another jurisdiction. If you are going outside of California for instance, you will need a lawyer or an agency where the birth mother is. And they will charge a fee for that. And you add all that up and it will be typically in that range, $15,000 to $22,000 dollars.
