If you are at all suspicious that you might be suffering from postpartum depression, first and foremost, I would say to go talk to your partner and then go talk to your healthcare provider. Even as a mom, you deliver this baby and you get a sense of empowerment. You can tackle the world because you love this child and will do anything for them. In the face of postpartum depression, you are not on your A game. Most often, you are going to need some assistance. I needed medication. I had never been on it before. I was very leary of it at first. I thought, "I can handle it. I don't need this. I'm a mom." But I did. I took it and it was the best decision ever. Talk to your doctor. Whether it is medicine or some other things that they may suggest to you, the biggest thing is being open to help to whatever that might be. On top of that, everyone will tell you to sleep when your baby sleeps; whether or not you sleep when your baby sleeps. Sleep. You need sleep. You need hydration. You need good food. You need a good support system around you.
