If you have an older sibling and your micro premie comes home with some special needs, you may find yourself wanting to look into a reverse mainstream school for your older sibling. These are typically preschools. They are preschools for special needs and a neurotypical child, or a typically developing child can be what is called, the reverse mainstream student in these schools. It gives your child and chance to see that their sibling is not the only child that has special needs and that there are lots of kids that have developmental delays or has to see the doctor often. It helps them to see that there sibling isn't weird or strange and helps them come to terms with the fact that their sibling has had a lot of needs that they haven't.
