So, what to do if you want to start your own garden? I think it's really important to remember that all of us can do this. We all had a lima bean in a cup as kids that we learned how to grow, to not be intimidated by the process. But if you are concerned about genetically-engineered foods, it is so important to make sure that when you're planting that garden, you use organic seeds. Because not only do they not contain these new genetically-engineered proteins for which there are no long term safety studies, but organic seeds are not soaked in the chemicals that are required to grow those genetically-engineered seeds, too. So, by purchasing organic seeds, you're protecting yourself from a lot of these ingredients that may prove to cause harm.
