A parent who receives a phone call from school finding out that their child bit another child can e a very scary thing for a lot of parents. Probably the worst nightmare, actually, but it doesn't have to be. Depending on your child, and depending on their development specifically, if your child bites another child, it's probably frustration, that they can't, you know, communicate at that moment. If it's gone beyond that where this is more than one occasion of biting but you feel like it's situational frustrations, then you work with them process-wise on understanding that biting is not allowed, that it's, you know, school rules say that it's not okay, but also that you're hurting someone else. If you find that it's beyond that, that it's a heavier frustration, that's when you have to actually sit with your child and talk to them about what they're feeling, and try to find out with certain questions whether their frustration is greater than that situation and helping them through that.
