With children that have a hard time making friends at school, that is a very understandable issue. It is very hard to make new friends sometimes, especially depending on the school that the child is at. If there are a lot of kids already there, if there are kids who were already friends beforehand, it´s that much more of a challenge. And it´s perfectly find that your child feels that way. Don´t feel overwhelmed by that. Don´t feel that your child is being ostracized for any reason. What you do from this point on is what will help the child in the future learn how to make friends. The first thing I suggest to parents is talk with the teacher and let them know that you have seen that your child is having a hard time. Find out what your teacher sees in the classroom. The next step is to work with the teacher in communicating to your child in the same light as far as making new friends. And you ask them have you gone and asked friends to play. When they play, do you want to play their games or did you want to play your own game? Are friends mean to you? Are they nice to you? Asking them these simple questions will find out what your child sees in those situations, and you might be able to help them figure out and navigate those situations a lot easier.
