The biggest question parents have is, how to get ready for preschool. It is probably the biggest fear for a parent as well. It is probably the first time you are going to have to let your child go. Let other adults take care of your child and let other children challenge your child. The thing I always suggest to all parents, as far as getting ready for preschool, is be prepared for separation. What that means is trusting the school that you are sending your child to, first and foremost. If you do not trust your school, your child will know that you have some type of weariness, and they will carry that weariness with them. Secondly, let your child know that they are going to have a great time. That you are excited for them, without making too big of a deal. That way, you can help your child get emotionally ready. The third thing that some preschools will allow you to do, is actually taking your child to visit the school, giving them a comfort level. If you take care of these three things, normally, your child will have a fairly healthy transition into that new environment.
