What are the industries that are behind the genetic engineering of our crops? It's not who you would expect. You would think it would be farmers and agriculture, but it's actually a bunch of chemical companies, and they have genetically engineered our food crops to withstand increasing doses of their chemicals. In that process, in that genetic engineering process, they have also patented our food crops, and so now those food crops are owned by a handful of chemical companies. And this all began 15 or 20 years ago before most of us were paying attention, and before we had these escalating rates of diseases. And as we're waking up to this, not only are we questioning this new technology and basically what's an operating system now on our food supply, where these seeds require these chemicals to grow, but there are also a growing number of people and scientists that are concerned with the ethics of a handful of chemical corporations owning the patents on the food supply.
