I think the way that we get our partners more involved in parenting is to understand that the way that they parent and the way that they love and the way that they raise their children does have a little bit of difference in a way that we love and raise our children as mothers. We may hold the baby at certain way. We may feed them at certain way. They may bond with us in a certain way. But, fathers have a really distinct way of holding their children and feeding them and loving on them that may not necessarily jive with the way that we do. So, for instance, you know, I would never helicopter my child from one side of the room onto the bed. That's not something that I, as a mother, would do. I'm thinking of ambulances. I'm thinking of hospital bills. I'm thinking of a hurt child and broken bones. My husband just thinks it's fun. So, what I do is, when he decides to play helicopter daddy, I remove myself from the situation. And, you know what? When I come back, everybody is still alive, bones are not broken, there are not any hospital bills, and he's bonded with his daughters. And, that's the, you know, once you realize that you need to step back and let them do their thing, it's all the better for it.
