The best way that a new mom can prepare for a natural childbirth in a hospital is, ideally, to get a midwife; if the hospital has midwives or if midwives have privileges there. If you can't find a midwife, just to seek out a doctor who supports natural childbirth. Somebody who is on the same page as you, who will support you and back you about what it is that you want for your birth plan; which is basically all of your preferences written down on a piece of paper. You give that to everybody you meet and it lets them know that you are informed of your choices, you are well aware of the choices they have there, but you are opting out of them. That way nobody is coming at you like you are not aware of what an epidural is or that you don't know what any induction drugs are. Just let them know that you know what your choices are. If you have a doctor or midwife that back you, that is really the best way to go about it.
