I think raising kids in Los Angeles, one of the hardest things for me is teaching morals and values to my children.
I think, where I am from in Texas, it is in the community more. You go to church. You really say "Mr." and "Mrs." to your elders. There is definitely a hierarchy in the society here, not as much.
I thought that morals would be something that your child would just kind of learn, but apparently not. I think you do have to teach your children that. There is a certain way you talk to your friends and there is a certain way you talk to adults. Being kind, having compassion for other people. I think you have to teach your children that.
I bought a book on virtues. I read it to my children all the time. They are just little tidbits of on all these different virtues. We read them and talk about them all the time. We write virtues on the wall and we talk about them all the time.
I think it is something you have to teach your children. It doesn't come naturally.
