I decided to start my kids in activities really young. My husband and I got our oldest in the pool at four to six months, by eighteen months, she could swim across our hot tub. By three years, all four of my kids could swim across the pool. I think it's because we started them really young. They never had that, not wanting to put their face in the water because they had been in the water since four to six months old. They were very comfortable with it. The same thing with ballet, tap, ice skating, all of them started by the age of three, for sure. A lot of people say you shouldn't over schedule your kids, but I'm from Texas. We over schedule our kids. I like it. They are involved in a lot of things and started when they were really young. My kids started soccer at the age of three, so by age nine, they are really good soccer players. I think when you try to start your kids too late, you know, little Sally has been taking soccer, so they are so far ahead. Some kids are talented and can fit right in, but not all of them. I started mine really young.
