Transcription:
I don´t think it is really possible for you to teach your children good values, and here is why. Because values are not taught, values are caught. And what I mean by that is that your child is living in your home. They are watching you every day and what you do is far more important than anything you will ever say. It is your actions that matter in the arena of values. So if you say that you value honesty, that honesty is a value to you, then you don´t say to your child tell so-and-so I am not home when so-and-so calls you on the phone. If you are saying that speaking with a loving tone or showing love is important in your home, then you are not walking around yelling and screaming at people. You are sitting down to have a reasoned conversation. If you are saying that you want people to be peacemakers, then you are acting in a peacemaking way in your home because, again, your values are caught, not taught.
