I knew I wanted to breastfeed my twins. It wasn't a question of whether I was going to breastfeed, so i was committed, but it was hard. It was very difficult. I had breastfeed before, so I knew I could do it. It wasn't a question of that. At first, I just breastfed all the time. I fed them together. I pumped. You had to keep a very timed schedule to make sure you had enough milk. In the end, after I breastfed constantly for a couple of months, I thought it was a better strategy to breastfeed one, and pump for the other one. I would switch at the next feeding. It really freed up my time, otherwise, I would have just been breastfeeding forever. At about six months, I decided they had had enough breast milk and I switched to formula. Both of them are fine, healthy six year olds. So I think it was the right decision.
