Emotional and verbal abuse, let me just talk about them separately. Emotional abuse can be in a situation where maybe you have something that is really important to you. Maybe you have a project. Maybe you have an athletic event and you want someone to come and be supportive, your relationship or your partner. And they say like why would I ever want to come to see that. Why would I ever want to do something for you? That can be an instance of emotional abuse. Verbal abuse can be put downs or things that make you feel bad about yourself like you are fat or you are horrible, no one is ever going to want you. So you can have emotional and verbal abuse in a relationship but verbal abuse is usually things where someone is yelling obscenities at you or putting you down, whereas emotional can be you are not getting your needs met. You are not having someone who is actively involved in something that is important to you. So emotional and verbal abuse, they do have their own signs.
