Financial abuse, I think a lot of times people don't think that can happen in a teenage relationship. When you think about dating someone, you're going to the movies, and you're going out and doing cool things together. Maybe you go to plays or a sporting event. Maybe you are always expected to pay. Financial abuse can be that, no matter what you do, you are expected to pay. That can happen with both genders. It can happen to a male or female. Maybe it's to loan them money. "If you were going to be a good girlfriend, you would loan me the money. " You can also see it in college relationships too. You move into your first apartment with someone and all the bills are in your name. The apartment is in your name. You have to have access to your credit card, they are charging things and you are expected to pay for them. Financial abuse can begin as early as 13 or when you start dating or going places.
