A family meeting is very much what it says. It is a meeting that is regularly scheduled activity for the family. On a weekly basis, on a monthly basis, the family sits down and talks about what's important for us as a family. Family meeting is where we discuss our values. Family meetings are where we talk abut what's working well in our family, and it's also about talking about what are our challenges and how we are going to deal with the challenges in our family. Family meetings are a wonderful opportunity to assign tasks, to talk about things that are really important to each individual member, but it's an organized interaction. I believe it needs an agenda, and what's really exciting is letting each family member actually run that particular meeting so they become empowered with some leadership through that process of family meetings.
